Kelatox : Frequently Asked Questions
Q | What are Kelatox Chelation Suppositories? A | Kelatox™ is a rectal, time-release suppository that binds and removes harmful heavy metals from your body. Kelatox™ uses Calcium Disodium EDTA in a cocoa butter base with methocel E4M premium USP for a time-release effect. Each suppository dissolves through body heat and gradually spreads over the lining of the colon, and is then absorbed directly into the blood stream within 90-120 minutes. Kelatox is an EDTA chelation therapy program that is medically equivalent to the IV method of EDTA chelation. Q | What makes Kelatox Chelation Suppositories better than IV chelation? A | Kelatox chelation suppositories are taken at night, right before you retire for the evening. This allows less metabolic competition for the EDTA because the body is at rest while the EDTA is working. Kelatox introduces a lower singular dosage of EDTA, administered more frequently, to lessen the burden on the body and to provide better EDTA assimilation. Almost all the blood from the rectum makes its way to the superior hemorrhoidal veins, a tributary of the portal system. The lower and middle hemorrhoidal veins bypass the liver and do not undergo first pass metabolism, therefore the EDTA in Kelatox chelation suppositories is not being filtered through the liver first, making the suppository delivery of EDTA more productive. Kelatox introduces EDTA directly into the systemic circulation and lymphatic system. Kelatox chelation suppositories are also far safer than IV chelation because the EDTA in Kelatox travels through the body at a much slower rate, not putting the same burden on the liver and kidney. Thirty Kelatox chelation suppositories are medically equivalent to 11 IV treatments. Q | Is Kelatox better than oral chelation products? A | This makes oral EDTA therapy far less effective than the suppository method. Oral EDTA tablets are so poorly absorbed that it can never be equal to the IV method or to chelation suppositories. By using a suppository you will get about 95% absorption of the EDTA, however with oral EDTA, only about 5% of the ingested EDTA will survive the stomach to be utilized. The stomach acids destroy most of the oral EDTA whereby very little of the EDTA is actually absorbed into the bloodstream. Oral EDTA is so poorly absorbed that you need to take about 30 oral EDTA (500 mg) tablets to equal just one chelation suppository. Kelatox chelation suppositories were formulated for in-home use, to eliminate the hassle and inconvenience that makes IV chelation impractical for many people. Q | How do I use Kelatox? A | It is recommended and safe to use Kelatox™ suppositories once nightly (for at least 90 days) for a good initial detoxification. Depending upon your level of exposure or toxicity, you may need to use Kelatox™ for up to 180 days or more. Insert one Kelatox™ suppository nightly right before bedtime, so that the EDTA will diffuse throughout your body while your metabolism is slowed, giving it more time to chelate. Kelatox™ may also be utilized at other times during the day if necessary. It is recommended to use Kelatox™ 2 - 3 hours after your last meal. This provides adequate time to produce a bowel movement, thus removing any excess matter in the rectum and reducing any potential metabolic competition. If possible, avoid a bowel movement for at least 2 hours after inserting the Kelatox™ suppository. Using Kelatox™ on a less frequent basis will not cause any problems but it may take longer to achieve the desired results. Q | Why a Suppository? A | EDTA, the active ingredient, is a synthetic amino acid that needs to remain whole to be effective. When taken by mouth, about 95% of the EDTA will be destroyed by the acids in the stomach making it unusable. Getting EDTA via an IV, while effective, is very time consuming, expensive and potentially dangerous due to the high dosage. With a suppository, there is about a 95% absorption rate and no requirement for blood work to determine kidney and liver function as is required before getting IV EDTA treatments. Q | Are toxic heavy metals a serious health problem? A | Toxic heavy metals have been linked to many health problems and diseases that plague us today. Toxic heavy metals have been implicated with in degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and ALS. Circulatory problems such as hardening of the arteries, atherosclerosis, angina, peripheral neuropathies, high blood pressure and blocked arteries have also been linked to these metals. Toxic heavy metals such as mercury are neurotoxins that disrupt and change electrical pathways in your body helping to cause neurological disorders, dementia and even death. Toxic heavy metals are one of the major (under-reported) causes of many health problems faced by our society today. We come in contact with these metals on a daily basis though many sources including dental amalgam fillings, cookware, deodorants, hair dyes, cosmetics (lipstick), drinking water, metal food containers, household cleaners, and eve the air we breathe! The best way to protect ourselves is to remove the toxic heavy metals from our bodies and to reduce or eliminate the contact points for these toxins. Q | Should I take mineral supplements while using Kelatox? A | It is strongly recommended that you supplement daily with a good quality, natural multivitamin/mineral to help replace the needed minerals that are lost due to natural processes and chelation. The EDTA in Kelatox will bind with some essential minerals, but at a much slower rate than toxic heavy metals. Your body will breakdown and utilize essential minerals such as Iron, Zinc and Magnesium but not toxic heavy metals that it doesn’t have any use for. Since the EDTA can only bind with what it finds we do not feel that it will deplete essential minerals from your body as long as you supplement on a regular basis. We recommend taking this mineral supplementation at least 8 hours before or after taking the Kelatox, in order to give your body time to breakdown and utilize the minerals before the EDTA has a chance to bind with them. Q | What is the Endothelium and how does Kelatox help? A | The endothelium is a membrane that is a single cell layer thick that lines the inside of the circulatory and lymphatic systems. This membrane has several functions which include; the production of nitric oxide, summoning of white blood cells, assistance in the regulation of coagulation of the blood, and control of the contraction and relaxation of veins. The primary cause of endothelial dysfunction is the build up of heavy metals in this lining which causes it be far less effective. Nitric oxide is a gas produced in the endothelium which controls the relaxing or dilating of the blood vessels. If nitric oxide is not produced, the blood vessels will become rigid and non-flexible causing hardening of the blood vessels. The EDTA in Kelatox will remove heavy metals from the endothelium helping it to produce nitric oxide thereby allowing the blood vessels to relax increasing the blood flow. Q | Will it hurt to insert the suppository? A | Kelatox uses cocoa butter as the base which helps the suppository gently slide into the rectum in with ease. There may be a slight bit of pressure due to the fact you are inserting a foreign object into your body, however your body will become accustomed to the process within the first few applications. Q | Will Kelatox irritate the colon? A | Kelatox uses calcium disodium EDTA, which has a neutral ph that will no irritate the colon. Q | How does KelatoxTM compare to Detoxamin®? A | KelatoxTM EDTA suppositories were formulated by the same scientist that formulated Detoxamin® and use the same ingredients. Since Kelatox delivers a stronger dosage at a lower price, Kelatox is actually a superior value when compared to Detoxamin®. Kelatox is manufactured in an FDA approved facility and conforms to current Good Manufacturing Practices. *Detoxamin® is a registered trademark of World Health Products, LLC. Q | What is nitric oxide and how does it connect to EDTA chelation therapy? A | EDTA has been shown to optimize nitric oxide production. This fact alone makes chelation therapy a benefit for virtually everyone. Nitric oxide (NO) protects the heart, stimulates the brain, kills bacteria, helps prevent blood clots that are the cause of most heart attacks and strokes, enhances oxygen delivery to tissues, and helps regulate blood pressure and blood flow to different organs. It is present in most living creatures and made by many different types of cells. It was a sensation when it was discovered that this simple, common air pollutant,-which is formed when nitrogen burns, for instance in automobile exhaust fumes-could exert so many important and life saving functions in our body.
